About Me...
My name is Dr. Owens-Twaites and I am thrilled that you have reviewed the resources on the Campbell
Elementary Literacy site. I hope that you check-out the resources often.
A bit about me…
I am a Native New Yorker who relocated to Georgia 24 years ago. I began my professional career in business, where I worked in advertising and finance before I decided to become an educator. I graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle with a B.S. in Communications, and later went on to earn a Master’s in Education from Hunter College, an Add-on in Leadership from the University of West Georgia, a Specialist in Administration and Supervision from the University of West Georgia and a Doctorate in Education from Walden University.
I have been an educator for thirty-one years, with eighteen of those years serving as a classroom teacher and twelve years as a building and district administrator. I have just completed my first year as an Instructional Coach. I have worked in a variety of school settings, both urban and suburban and I have participated in numerous staff development opportunities.
As an educator, I am extremely passionate about student learning and their overall success. As such, I am engaged in a perpetual state of learning. As a lover of literacy, I believe that a strong classroom literacy program will support students in every content area.
I am married to an incredibly supportive husband and I have two adult daughters, and the sweetest fur baby.
This is an exciting time in your child’s life – as partners, we can work together to ensure their future success!
